Call for Demos

Call for Demos

We are inviting you to submit your papers to the demo track of the Affective Computing and Intelligent Interaction Conference (ACII 2025). It is the perfect opportunity to showcase demonstrations of recent advancements in this space. Technologies, multimodal products, and prototypes are all welcome for presentation, to engage with an international community of experts from various corners of social science, computer science, and data science.

Demo presenters will benefit from heightened exposure for their work, and feedback from scientists and experts in the field. We encourage creative, artistic, and thought-provoking experiences, research prototypes, and commercial products. Demos are also an excellent opportunity to find beta testers and other collaborators. A two-page extended abstract is required and will be published in the ACIIW 2025 companion conference proceedings for all accepted demos.

This year, ACII will be co-located with ICMI’25 (International Conference on Multimodal Interaction) in Canberra, bringing exciting opportunities for networking with a highly relevant community.

Important Dates

All deadlines are in the Anywhere on Earth time zone.

  • Submission Deadline: 15 July 2025 25 July 2025 (extended)
  • Notification of Acceptance: 28 July 2025 1 August 2025 (extended)
  • Camera Ready Submissions: 10 August 2025
  • Conference Dates: 8-11 October 2025

Requirements

Submissions of demonstrations of research prototypes and innovative commercial products related to applications of affective computing and intelligent interaction are welcome.

Submission Guidelines

The submission materials should be combined into a single document, including the following:

  1. A two-page (+ one additional page for references) extended abstract to be published in the ACIIW 2025 companion conference proceedings in the conference paper format (please find LaTeX/Word templates here). The abstract should include (1) a brief background introduction and description of the system, (2) a summary of the technical contributions of the system, and (3) results of a formal evaluation or an experiment to be conducted during the demo (if applicable).
  2. A URL link to a video recording demonstrating how the system works.

The demo papers submission process will be handled through the Easy Chair system. Please note that the demo presenters must register for the conference.

Evaluation Criteria

Each demo paper will be reviewed and selected based on its scientific contribution, originality and innovation, social impact, potential for widespread use, and relevance to topics of ACII. Demo papers should include detailed technical explanations of the methods used. Similar demos will be grouped together to maximize the visibility of the presenters and their technologies.

Demo Guidelines:

You will be provided with a table to place your demo apparatus, with access to power supply, extension cords and internet access at the venue. Demo presenters are primarily responsible for bringing computational and other specialised devices that may be required for effective demonstration- the organizers may be able to provide basic accessories such as monitors subject to availability. You can also avail a poster board, on which a poster of up to A0 size (84 cm width x 119 cm height) – portrait orientation, can be installed to describe technical details.

You will be provided adequate time to prepare for the demo (up to 1 hour) and will be expected to carry your equipment with you following your demonstration.
