Call for Late Breaking Results

The Late Breaking Results (LBR) track at ACII provides a venue for authors to share early-stage work and new ideas that make a contribution to the community but have not yet reached a level of validation and maturity to be suitable for the main or special tracks. Notably, this does not mean that the work does not need to be rigorous or high quality; it just means that the ideas may be so new that there hasnโ€™t been time to fully test them yet. The LBR track may also be a place for discussing affective computing science and applications without necessarily testing these ideas with new scientific experiments. LBRs will provide an opportunity to receive feedback from the community on early-stage work, explore potential collaborations, and engage in thought-provoking discussions.

All LBR submissions will undergo blind peer-review and will be published as extended abstracts in the companion proceedings of the conference. Submissions accepted as LBRs will also be presented at the conference (as talks or posters, to be determined later). These presentations will provide an opportunity to receive feedback from the community on early stage work, explore potential collaborations, and engage in thought-provoking discussions.

Submission Instructions

Authors must submit their LBR submissions through the EasyChair system to the Late Breaking Results (LBR) track. Submissions can be up to 4 pages (including the required Ethical Statement and references). Note that the fourth page can contain research content in addition to the ethical statement and references. The format should be the same as the main track IEEE specification (see templates here) and should follow the same instructions.

For instructions on writing the required ethical impact statement, see the same link above.

Peer-Review Process

Submissions will undergo a double-blind peer-review process to evaluate their relevance to the ACII community, their quality, and their appropriateness for the LBR venue. Decisions about the acceptance of each submission will be based on (at least) two reviews.

Attendance

At least one author of each LBR submission must attend the conference to present the results.
